TRUST IS THE FUTURE CURRENCY OF THE SOCIAL WEB

Vineloop Launches First Social Recommendation Sharing Platform Based on Real, Trusted Relationships

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania - November 30, 2011 - Time and time again, we end up discovering most of the stuff we really love from a small number of friends. These select few are our personal go-to experts on things like food, music, movies, and more. But if we trust their choices so much, wouldn't we also trust the select few who provide them their recommendations? A new company called Vineloop has made tapping into this goodness as easy as flipping a switch.

Vineloop has created the first trust-based, recommendation sharing technology platform built to help people leverage their real world's trusted relationships to customize and personalize recommendations for everything from books, to restaurants, movies and more and will be available in a mobile application for iOS in the iTunes App Store in November.

Vineloop is an innovative digital platform with a growing portfolio of patent-pending technologies. One of which, Trustline™, is a system that intuitively extends the bond of selective and trusted relationships beyond the first degree of a person's social circle – or "graph".

Vineloop was born from the realization that social networks fail to recognize that the people we consider friends are not necessarily the same people we rely on most for recommendations, and why our discovery of new experiences and products is most strongly influenced by a small number of individuals with whom we have interpersonal relationships based on trust.

The power of the Trustline™ system is how it supports natural human behavior relating to influence, as outlined in the Law of The Few¹, which says that when it comes to our true passions, why we try, and why we buy, we are most strongly influenced by a small number of individuals we know and trust. This is the reason why Vineloop limits the number of people who can be turned ON in each Trustline for a given subject of interest to five. By limiting the number of people an individual has ON, each Trustline creates a more exclusive and trusted channel for knowledge sharing.

Once users establish the links in a Trustline, they gain access to trusted information beyond their direct relationships. This happens because the technology activates a series of Trustline-to-Trustline sub-networks. By turning ON a Trustline™, a person gains access to the recommendations of the five people they trust most within a topic of interest, and those of the five people each of their experts trusts most, and so on. Because a Trustline can be turned ON/OFF, individuals have tremendous control over how they learn information, while avoiding the noise, confusion, and biases produced by mass media, social media, and search engines.

Vineloop's iPhone mobile application will support seven initial passion sets for people to share recommendations through a Trustline. Those "passion sets" include: restaurants; beer; wine; movies; music; books; and TV shows.

The company is preparing Vineloop for the web, Android, and the addition of other categories like cosmetics, hotels and more. The relevance of the Trustline extends far beyond the lifestyle focus of the Vineloop app. The company also plans to launch products within the world of medicine, baby care, investing and more, where natural needs for trusted recommendations exist.

"Our philosophy is simple – we want to help people discover more of what they enjoy most in life by making it easier to connect with the people that guide them most, and who know them best," said Lou Vastardis, Vineloop co-CEO and co-founder, "No other social media platform acknowledges the natural power of the few people we rely on most to discover new experiences. If a person simply has five people they trust most turned on in a Trustline, and they each also have five, one could have 130 trusted resources, within just three degrees of separation."

"We believe this innovative social media platform will empower people to be more informed, confident, and satisfied in their purchasing decisions," said Darren Pulito, Vineloop co-CEO and co-founder, "We know people more readily take a recommendation from a person they know and trust. Vineloop is a force multiplier."
